Anyone who has caught a wahoo before will agree that they are one of the coolest fish in the ocean! Found in both the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific oceans, the wahoo is normally a solitary species but has been known to travel in schools numbering over a hundred!
 
A wahoo is a Pelagic fish, living in the open ocean. The dark colors on its back, light colored belly, and distinct stripes allow it to blend into the blue waters near the surface. The teeth of a wahoo are razor sharp and are deadly! They are shorter than the teeth of their relatives in the mackerel family and closely set together. Even when a wahoo is dead, their teeth are incredibly dangerous!


Their diet consists mainly of fish and squid. They have also been found to eat cephalopods and crustaceans.
